2014 One-Day Tournaments

The Old Dominion Region Junior website is here. 
In 2012, day tournaments were open for entering on December 14.  That was cool!

The Quest For Excellence New Year's Tournament
December 28 - 29, 2013
Greensboro Sportsplex.  Three divisions: 13/14, 15/16, 17/18.

The Martin Luther King Tournament

The Monument City Classic
January 18 - 20, 2014

For the first time in 2011, there was a "StayToPlay" policy, where the tournament decides what hotels you can stay at.

The Myrtle Beach Volleyball Classic
January 18-20, 2014.
Myrtle Beach & Columbia, SC   Its website is here.
This tournament has not been a "StayToPlay" tournament.
Myrtle Beach divisions: 12U, 15 Power, 16 Club, 16 Power, 17 Club, 17 Power, 18 Club, and 18 Power

Southern Dream Tournament

Capitol Hill Classic

Jewel Of The Mountains
February 22-23, 2014. This is an AAU event.

Beast Of The Southeast
Febrary 22 - 23, 2014 near Atlanta.
15's and older compete at Suwanee Sports Complex here.
12s - 14s compete at the Southern Volleyball Center .

Southern Youth Festival
March 15 - 16, 2014, only for teams u14 and younger.

2014 USAV National Qualifers

The entire list of qualifiers can be seen here. 
Qualifiers are almost all "StayToPlay" events, where teams are forced to stay at a hotel from a specific list.
Unless a team is communting, there is no other choice. 

Colorado Crossroads Qualifier
March 8-10 or March 14-16, 2014.

2014 Junior Nationals
The 2014 Junior National Tournament will be held in:
Minneapolis, MN!

This tournament is only for teams who win their region's Bid Tournament
or do extremely well at one of the National Qualifier above.

AJunior Nationals is a tournemnt where only the best teams in the country participate. This is because teams must qualify for it. The location changes every year.

Yes, AAU Nationals in Orlando is also a national tournament, but that's a tournemnt in which any team can play. Not only that, but in AAU you can choose to play in any division you wish: the powerful, the good, the ok, or the "We're here on vacation" division.
To participate in AAU Nationals you must have enough players, all players and coaches be AAU members, and an entry fee.
The tournament is held in Orlando, so that's fun!
In 2011, there were approximately 1000 teams there.


2014 AAU Nationals!

2014 AAU Junior National Volleyball Champions will probably be
at the ESPN Wide World of Sports
and the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando FL.

* Since I can remember, it's been held in Orlando Florida. 
* In 2010, the Roanoke 17's attended. 
* In 2011, Roanoke United 17's and 15's participated.  In 2012, Roanoke United 17's participated.
A team's results are ALWAYS better than their results at Junior Nationals, or even one of the National Qualifiers. 
Yes, the competition is usually that much weaker.
