I received this from Alex Sing, tournament director, June 29, 2012:   "Winter Bump will have 2 locations. Both convention centers. Charleston SC (96 teams) and Myrtle Beach SC (128 teams). Will have adult R1 and entry in the $4oo range."
This tournament has not been a "StayToPlay" tournament.

New for 2013:  Orlando Qualifier.
I got this infom from PrepVball.
USAV will be running a Qualifier in Orlando beginning in 2013. Apparently it will be called the Disney Volleyball Showcase.
In 2013, it will be Open only. I have heard that it will be an invitational, but do not know how that will work. The dates are 3/22 to 3/24.
In 2014, the event will be both open and club. At that point it will be a normal qualifier.

2013 Junior Nationals
The 2013 Junior National Tournament will be held in
Dallas Texas!

This tournament is only for teams who win their region's Bid Tournament
or do extremely well at one the national qualifiers above!

 Junior Nationals is a tournament where only the best teams in the country play, b/c teams must qualify for it.   The location changes each year.

Teams may also play in the AAU Nationals; but that's a tournament in which any team can play,
regardless of the team's quality.   Sounds odd for a "national" tournament, but it's true. 
All that's required is enough players, a coach, AAU membership by players and coaches, and an entry fee.   The tournament is usually held in Orlando.  Fun!
The teams that enter also choose the division they want to play in!  They can play Open vs. very good teams, play Club vs. OK teams, or play Classic.   In 2011, there were approximately 1000 teams at AAU Nationals, about 300 played Open, about 550 played club and about 150 played Classic.

* In 2011, Roanoke United 17's and 15's participated.  In 2012, Roanoke United 17's participated.
A team's results are ALWAYS better than their results at Junior Nationals, or even one of the National Qualifiers. 
Yes, the competition is usually that much weaker.
