Hey Coach Houser: Just wanted to let you know that i really enjoyed this year's camp. It was the best one i've been too yet! I had so much fun. I really can't wait til next year. I really liked the covering drills and the tournament we played. :) Thanks for a great time. I'm really looking forward to this upcoming season and for next year's camp.
My daughter absolutely loved Coach Lori. We sincerely do thank you for the opportunity for growth and making new friends.	coach houser: i had so much fun coaching all the rookie campers! i encouraged them but they also encouraged me! it's amazing how a team works! this camp was awesome! i was so impressed with all of the players! they really are great girls! coaching is awesome!, having fun, and just everything! [My daughter] loved the camp. First volleyball camp ever. She had a lot of fun, She was concerned about not knowing anyone, but she soon made friends. Really liked the coaches. As a parent, I thought your speeches about teamwork, respect, and boys were a great idea. We both wish the camp was for 5 days.
[My daughter] told me it was stressed about how important it is to respect your coaches and teammates; she said that the topic of boys came up and I think she mentioned how they can be a "distraction" (thank you for that). I can't stress what a wonderful time she had. She attended camps before, but this was by far her favorite. Your camp has really reinforced what we try to teach her at home, it's nice to be a good athlete and student, etc., but it is more important to be a good person.
I would like to thank you for running such a fun and instructive camp. My daughter does not attend Red Lion, nor did she know anyone in attendance at the camp, and for a tweener that can be problematic. She was eager to attend the camp following the first day and that is a great testimonial. Kudos to your staff and the nice girls in attendance.
I want to thank you and your staff for providing [my daughter] with a wonderful experience. She came home, not talking about volleyball (well, some), but sharing "life lessons" she was taught. I was so impressed with your camp, it was nice to see that character comes first. These lessons will carry with her the rest of her life, through volleyball, school, work, etc. I can't thank you enough.
Thanks so much for another amazing camp experience for our daughter!! She loved the camp as much as ever.	Thanks for all your work with the girls last week. My daughter has never done a sports camp before, and she had a blast--even with the sore muscles! Your assistants were great, especially Sammy. My daughter's is talking about her a lot.

2009 Camp Format:
9am to 4pm.
with an hour lunch break every day.

Format:
There were two divisions: A rookie division
composed of the less experienced players,
and a Veteran Division with the
more experienced players.

The divisions were not be split by age,
but by playing experience.

Cost:
$100 for RLCA students.
$150 for nonRLCA students

Rookie Camp Director:

Barry Kane
Coach Kane has immense experience in volleyball. He has been a high varsity coach, a camp director and has even been a STAR camp host in 2007.   He was the head coach at Timberlake Christian School near Lynchburg, Va coach for 13 years.   His teams were conference champs twice and were ranked in the top 8 in the Virginia Division III final poll every year. His overall coaching record is 208-85 (71% wins) His two daughters, Jessie and Holly, currently play on the varsity team for Timberlake Christian School (who made it to the State Division III Final Four). Coach Kane is now a 7th grade teacher in Appomattox County, Virginia. He has been married for 22 years to Cheryl.   He is a perfect fit for the director of this division!

Scott Hammon
Scott and I have known each other since around 1997 when I began writing for www.volleyball.about.com Scott is a graduate of Troy State in Alabama. He's an avid vball player, writer and webmaster. Nina Lekwuwa
Nina was a member of the c/o 2006 at Westover Christian Academy in Danville, Virginia. She played school volleyball for 5 years and she attended two STAR camps while at WCA. She also played 5 years of school basketball and 2 years of school softball.   Nina has assisted with six STAR camps!! Lori Bryant
Lori graduated from Red Lion Christian Academy in 2008 and is now in her freshman year at Goldey-Beacom College. Lori played 6 years of volleyball for Red Lion; 2 years on the middle school team, 2 years on JV and 2 years on varsity. Lori has also played softball for 8 years, including 3 years at Red Lion. Emily Stave
Emily graduated from Red Lion Christian Academy in 2008 also, where she played volleyball for 7 years: 2 years in middle school and the rest on the varsity team. She also played soccer there for 7 years:   2 year in middle school and the rest on varsity.   She is now a freshman at the University of Delaware. Jessie Kane
Jessie is the daughter of Rookie Camp director Barry! She began playing volleyball for school in 6th grade. She has been doing recreation volleyball since being in the 2nd grade. She played 2 years of travel volleyball for the Heart Of Virginia volleyball club. Currently she is a senior captain on the Timberlake Christian School volleyball team. Holly Kane
Holly is the other daughter of Barry!   She will be a sophomore at Timberlake Christian School near Lynchburg Va. She won the Coaches Award in Volleyball: 6th, 7th, and 9th grades, she was named Miss All Around Volleyball: 8th grade She started on Varsity as a freshman last year, and her team made it to the Final Four. Jewel Hoornick
Jewel will be a junior at Timberlake Christian. She just participated in the Timberlake STAR Camp was named Server of the Week! She has also been named her team's best server and team's best hitter on previous teams that she's been on. Sami Hanes

According to NCAA rules, players from the class of 2009 ARE eligible to participate in a summer high school camp. This will not get them in any trouble and it will not jeopardize their college volleyball eligibility.
