Team Check-In:

Check-In: Friday, May 2, 2014; 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at Quarterpath Recreation Center

This year physical check-in is mandatory. If the head coach is not available for check-in, an assistant coach or team representative may substitute. Important site information and tournament rules & format will be discussed. 

The meeting should last 10-15 minutes, and will run every half hour from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Very Important Rules:

The following came from an email from the Rumble directors.

RULE #1 :
"THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO BALL HANDLING INSIDE ANY FACILITY, OTHER THAN THE PLAYING AREA. THIS INCLUDES NON-PLAYING SIBLINGS/RELATIVES/FRIENDS. This threatens our ability to use some of these facilities, so any disregard of this rule will result in more severe penalties than normal, up to and including forfeiture of games or matches."

RULE #2:
* ONLY WATER is allow in EACH of the gyms during the Rumble. We do not own our facilities, WE ARE GUESTS, so please inform your PARENTS and players. Part of our use agreement is that we do not allow Food and Drink (other than water) in the Gym.
* At some of our facilities, team carriers are required, so be prepared.
* Additionally, rude behavior will be handled more severely than most are accustomed. Our Site Personnel have been instructed to have people removed that will not abide by these rules.

* "Camp Sites" are allowed in the parking lot, but please do not block fire lanes, or parking spaces.

2014 Tournament Format:

Format: (All teams guaranteed 7 matches or 18 games)

Saturday - Wave 1: I think 8am or 11:00am.   Wave 2 I think 2pm or 5pm
Wave 1 and Wave 2 – All 3 team pools will be match play two SETS to 25, start at 4, with a third SET if necessary; played to 15, switch at 8. The 4 team pools in the 17s Division (G & GG) will be played two SETS to 25; start at 4, with a third SET if necessary.
* After the second match and any time thereafter, the Site Director and/or the referee has the authority to have play begin at 6 (or 8) if they feel it is necessary in the interest of time.

Sunday - Wave 3:  I think this will be Sunday 8am or 10am, 3-team pools.
All pools will be played two SETS to 25, start at 8 (really??), 3rd set if necessary start at 4, switch at 10.
* There will be no playoff after pool play, unless winner can go to Gold AFTER number 5 below

Sunday - I think 1pm to 6pm, Gold, Silver, Bronze (& Flights) Single Elimination Playoffs.
All Sunday playoff matches will be played best of 3 (25/25/15) start at 0; switch at 8 during 3rd set.
* If 20-30 minutes behind start at 4 (0 for 3rd set).
* If 30+ minutes behind start at 6 (0 for 3rd set).

TOURNAMENT TIE BREAKING PROCEDURES
1) Total Sets, if still tied; 2) Head to Head Match, if still tied; 3) Total Point Differential, if still tied;
4) Head to Sets, if still tied; 5) Head to Head Point Differential.

OK, if there is STILL a tie:
6) Wave 1 & Wave 2 (Saturday)
If early – one set to 25, start at 4, switch at 15;
If 1-10 mins behind – one set to 25 start at 6, switch at 15;
If 10-20 mins behind – one set to 15, switch at 8;
If 20+ mins behind – coin flip
Wave 3 (Sunday AM) – NO PLAYOFF, UNLESS WINNER CAN GO TO GOLD AND STILL TIED AFTER NUMBER 5 ABOVE. IF NECESSARY, GAME WILL BE ONE SET TO 15 START AT 4, SWITCH AT 10..
