"I believe that this tournament was the best we’ve ever played. During the entire tournament everyone was very positive and never gave up. That we came back in a 3rd game and won, from trailing 1-7 is amazing. I also really enjoyed all eating together at my house because everyone was able to interact and not just sit at a table the whole time. All in all, I really enjoyed Shamrock. Everyone played really well and we can’t go anywhere but up."
Annie Clark, #3
"The tournament this weekend brought us closer together as a team and showed us how much we can achieve together. When everything seemed to be going downhill when we lost the first set, that just made us even more hungry to win. I believe that our team can do anything together. Also this weekend showed how much we can do and how much better we are going to get. This weekend was the best we have ever played."
HB Galbraith, #21
We started off on Court 5, seeded #35. Then we won our first 5 matches, knocking out the #5 seed and beating four 16's teams along the way. On Saturday night, we were down 1-7 in the 3rd and won! Amazing weekend!

"We played very well this weekend. The team played so well together. I am very happy with our end results. I'm pretty sure my team got like 43rd last year. I am very excited about Atlanta with my great team. We played so well at Shamrock and we so capable."
Katie O'Neil, #6
"This past weekend was magical. To beat 16's teams over and over was fun! To be come through in pressure situations over and over was amazing! The effort and bondedness of this team is inspiring. I wish we were together every day. I can't wait for the next time we get to work together!"
Coach Tom Houser
,
We were the ONLY local team to make 16's gold playoffs.
We won our 1st round playoff match, and thus were the ONLY 15's team to make the final 8!
Shamrock 2014 was a magical weekend!
And we still have Atlanta, Asheville, the Bid Tournament, and Rumble to go!
We can't wait!

"I think we really improved this weekend! We played at a level that I didn't think we could. We beat teams that I could never see us beating when our season started. We all played as hard as we could and encouraged each other. We kept up the energy which helped us win. We definitely stepped up and played our game." Bre Thompson, #9
"We made plays this weekend that I never imagined I'd be a part of. I've saw every single one of us on the floor, reaching for a pancake, or making a diving play for a ball, just to try to get one point. This team is made up of an extraordinary group of girls, and we have so much talent! There was never a doubt in my mind this past weekend that we wouldn't succeed." Emma Lipscomb, #5
"Shamrock really pushed our team to the limits. We played our hearts out with each and every point. Every single one of my teammates deserves to be out on the court and will show opponents that we are an elite team. Shamrock made me remember why I love my team and being on the court. Even when we get tired we pushed ourselves and proved to everyone that NRV 15 national will not be pushed around and can take anything you throw at us." Lauren Harrison, #10

2013 Check in For
Teams:
6:00-10:30 - Team Check-In. All teams must bring a completed Team Check-In Form on Friday evening so tournament staff has contact info and hotel info for each team. Click HERE to download the form. If you are unable to bring this form on Friday, please e-mail it to director@shamrockfestival.org or fax it to 540-772-6874 before Friday. This is the only form we need so no need to provide signed roster sheets or anything else. All coaches who check-in on Friday evening in person will receive a coach’s gift too.

2013 Showcase During
Shamrock!
The Shamrock Festival hosts an annual Shamrock Recruiting Showcase on the Friday night before the tournament starts on nine courts at the Roanoke Civic Center. Our Showcase provides an opportunity for college coaches to see as many athletes as possible in one location.
The format will consist of individual skill/drill work with an emphasis on team drills and lots of controlled PLAY as facilitated by individual court coaches who will help keep everything on schedule. We want the college coaches to be able to see the players play as much as possible as that is the feedback the coaches have provided to us about this recruiting event. Each college coach in attendance on Friday night receives a free recruiting guide (both electronically and in paper form) with all the individual player information you input online when you register.
This recruiting showcase is open to all volleyball players, so your team does not even have to be competing in the Shamrock Festival in order for you to participate in the showcase. There will be two sessions: Session One is from 5:30-7:15pm and Session Two is from 7:45-9:30pm. We will send e-mail invitations to over 300 college coaches but we also encourage you to invite college coaches to attend if you want them to see you at the Showcase and/or throughout the weekend. All college coaches who register with us in advance will receive free Recruiting Guides and free Tournament Programs when they arrive at the Roanoke Civic Center.
Now a
note from Coach Houser:
Going to a showcase
isn't something I recommend to freshmen. Sophomores, maybe.
Why? There are usually almost no college coaches watching
freshmen, and very few watching sophs. Most coaches in
attendance will be D3 coaches who are looking at helping their teams
next fall.

2013
Tournament Format:
This is the 15/16's schedule at Shamrock:
* A 3-team pool at 11am on Saturday.
* Another 3-team pool starting 5pm on Saturday.
* A 3-team pool starting 8am Sunday.
* Playoffs begin at approximately noon on Sunday.
This was the weekend where we
lose an hour of sleep.

The 2013 Food/Drink
Policy
Some sites have very strict food/drink policies while others may be more
lenient. Please be respectful of tournament staff who will provide
further instructions at each site. Specifically, the Roanoke Civic
Center, Spectrum Sports Academy, and Patrick Henry HS will NOT allow any
outside food/drink in the building with the exception of water bottles
for players. The RCC will be searching bags/purses to enforce
this policy upon entrance and there is a separate entrance for players
to speed up their entry. Concessions are sold onsite so don't try to
sneak in your morning coffee or fast food lunch. :) Also, no chairs are
permitted inside Patrick Henry HS but bleachers are provided.
