Camp Format & Info:

Camp Schedule:
Monday - Wednesday: 9am to 4pm with a one hour supper break.

Thursday: 9am to 1pm.

Probable Divisions:
There are 2 divisions.
The Major League will be the girls who are the most skilled. The Minor League will be for girls who are moderately skilled.

Athletes will probably be assigned to divisions by their athleticism and skill, NOT by their age/grade. The camp staff will help Coach Blake with this.

Cost:
SRHS and SRMS students: $200
Other students: $250

* Girls from outside of the SR high & middle system will be accepted into this camp in the spring. We'll post the date here.

Approximate Maximum Campers:
20 - 25 in the Minor League division.
15 - 20 in the Major League division.

What The Camp Entails:
We might start the camp in separate divisions working on the girls' skills to ensure all the athletes can serve, pass, hit and dig properly. Throughout the camp, setters will get a lot of time working with coaches who specialize in setting. On the 2nd day, competitions will begin which emphasize the skills of the game. On the 3rd day, teams will be created in each division to get ready for the tournament. For the final few hours of the camp, athletes will be participating in a tournament. We hope that parents will allowed to join us and watch the tournament!!

Tom Houser

Coach Houser is the owner of STAR Volleyball Camps. He is the author of the "I Can't Wait" to coach books, and Drill Collection. He has coached 18 varsity teams, 10 JV teams, 26 club teams and directed 87 camps in 9 states in the past 7 years. You can see more about Coach Houser here.

Assistant Coaches:

Ashlea Havens
Ashlea is the head JV and varsity vball coach at Carlisle School in Martinsville. She is also coaching a club team for State Line Vball Club. Before that, she played two seasons at Patrick Henry Community College on their volleyball team. She is a 2018 graduate of Patrick County High where she played DS & Libero. She played 5 years of high school vball as well as 5 seasons of travel. She also played softball for 8 years. including travel & school. Emerson Scollo
Emerson will be a junior in the fall at William Peace University whee she is on the volleyball team and majoring in Game Design & Simulation. She is a 2019 graduate of Chatham High where she played OH, MB and Right. She was named 1st Team All District 2018, 2nd Team all Region 2018. She attended 8 Expectations Camps while in High School. Keslee Hylton
Keslee will be a sophomore in the fall at William Peace University where she is a Criminal Science major. Like Emerson, she graduated from Chatham, but one year later. While at Chatham, she played basketball, vball and threw on the track team. She was name the school's Female Athlete of the Year in 2019. She wa named First Team All District in 2018. Emily Dudley
Emily played 6 years of school ball in the awesome Hidden Valley volleyball program. She also played 6 years of club. She not only takes dozens of hours private lessons each year, but gives privates, and has assisted nearly 200 hours in the past 2 yeas. She's motivational, a leader and has immense knowledge!
